Two important organizations are founded in Eastern Canada

They are the Société des Acadiens du Nouveau-Brunswick and the Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador.

The New Brunswick organization, now known as the Société de l’Acadie du Nouveau-Brunswick, promotes and defends the rights and interests of the province’s Acadian and Francophone community. The Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador plays a similar role in Newfoundland and Labrador.
