2008
The Société éducative de l’Î.-P.-É. becomes Collège Acadie Î.-P.-É.
The Société is officially recognized by the government of Prince Edward Island as a publicly funded post-secondary institution.
The Collège is the only French-language post-secondary institution on Prince Edward Island. It provides quality training in French from its main training centre in Wellington and its two satellite centres in Charlottetown and Deblois (West Prince).
This recognition is part of the provincial government’s commitment to developing a long-term plan to strengthen P.E.I.’s Acadian and Francophone community.
Since December 2016, the institution has been called Collège de l’Île.
