The first French Language World Forum is held in Québec City

Its objective is to give Francophones from all five continents the opportunity to discuss French-language issues in a non-institutional setting.

Nearly 2,000 participants from 93 countries participated in the event, which was held from July 2 to 6.

The debates focused on four major themes: the economy and the labour market, linguistic diversity, cultural references and the digital world. From these discussions, 15 priorities were established for the future of the French language.

The Forum is also an opportunity to celebrate the French language and its many expressions through cultural events and festivities.
