The Fête franco-albertaine makes its debut

It starts with a group of young Francophones who organize a family camping trip.

After a bit of promotion and invitations to a few local musicians, it ends with 75 people getting together to socialize have some fun for a few nights.

Following this experience, the young people met with the Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta and pitched the idea of organizing a proper festival. Provincial organizations were asked to participate and they all got involved in the project that was to become the annual Fête franco-albertaine.
