The English-speaking community on Quebec’s Gaspé Coast founds the Committee for Anglophone Social Action

During this politically charged time in Quebec, English-speaking communities join forces to deal with the changes that are occurring.

The Committee for Anglophone Social Action was the first regional English-speaking community organization of its kind in Quebec.

After the election of the Parti Québécois in 1976, other groups were created, including the Townshippers Association in the Eastern Townships.
