The Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission is established

Canada’s public broadcaster (and precursor to CBC/Radio-Canada) provides programming for listeners in English and French.

Following the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Radio Broadcasting, the Canadian government decided to create a public broadcaster to ensure federal control and Canadian content for listeners in both English and French.
