Ontario celebrates 400 years of French presence

The community celebrations of 400 years of French presence in Ontario are a living testament to the contribution of Franco-Ontarians from 1615 to 2015.

After four centuries, the Francophone community of Ontario had more than 600,000 members, which was 4.8 % of the province’s total population (based on Statistics Canada’s 2011 Census). It is the second largest French-speaking community in Canada, after Quebec.
