Nova Scotia passes its French Language Services Act

This Act aims to foster the ongoing development of the province’s Acadian and Francophone community and specifies the terms and conditions under which provincial institutions provide services in French.

The Act established the Office of Acadian Affairs, which is responsible for ensuring that provincial institutions are aware of the needs of the Acadian and Francophone community, and for providing support to these institutions with respect to providing French-language services.
