The federal government establishes an accountability framework for official language minority communities
The framework encourages federal institutions to actively contribute to the development of official language minority communities.
Institutions that play a key role in community development were now required to consult the communities and prepare an action plan for the implementation of Part VII of the Official Languages Act.
They must submit annual progress reports to Canadian Heritage.
