The Commission scolaire francophone du Nunavut is created

The capital of Iqaluit is home to only French school board in Nunavut, which means “our land,” Inuit land. It covers the largest territory in Canada and has the fewest number of students!

The Commission scolaire francophone du Nunavut was created to respond to the needs of the territory’s Francophone community. It is responsible for the management of Nunavut’s only French-language school, École des Trois-Soleils. It is the world’s northernmost French-language school.
