An Acadian is elected Premier of New Brunswick

Louis Robichaud will serve three terms, until 1970.

During his time in office, he passed New Brunswick Official Languages Act.

Louis Robichaud was born on October 21, 1925, in the Acadian village of Saint-Antoine in southeast New Brunswick.
